For all you Spiderman or gaming fans out there you’re in for a treat as release date draws near.

Spider Man: Web of Shadows is a game for the Platstation portable, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, X-Box 360, Microsoft windows, Nintendo DS and Wii based on the Marvel superhero Spider-man. As the infamous wallcrawler swings his way back onto our consoles you can expect a lot from this game.

As many of the fans were disappointed with Spider-Man 3 and Spider-Man: Unlimited Activision and Treyarch have been hard at work to create a game perfect for fans of the web head. In the game many famous characters from the comic and cartoon will make their 1st appearance in a Spiderman video including infamous villains such as Vulture and the Insidious Kingpin but you can also expect to see the web heads allies as well such as Black cat, Nick fury, Luke cage and the girl next door Mary-Jane Watson.

The story has been created around the comics and possibly the original Playstation spider-man. Venom has returned to New York to infect the city with an army of Symbiotes. S.H.I.E.L.D has quarantined Manhattan to prevent the invasion from spreading. As a result, the entire city is cut off from the outside world. Spider-Man has to work with both heroes and villains from the Marvel universe to track down Venom and stop the invasion before he himself is consumed by the Symbiote attached to him.

The game covers many aspects of the marvel universe and the previous spider-man games released throughout the years. Like its predecessors Spider-man 2, Spider-man 3 and Ultimate Spider-man the game will allow free-roaming action, and players will be able to customize and choose Spider-Man’s aerial and ground combat. The player will be able to choose the game’s outcome and Spider-Man’s path. In addition, the player will decide which villain to fight against. The player will be able to switch between the original Red and Blue suit and the Symbiote suit at any time during game play, although the games Ultimate Spiderman and Spider-man 3 (for the PS2, PSP and Wii) had similar features. It has also been confirmed that Spider-Man will be able to swim in the water instead of dying automatically (in certain games, Spider-Man simply climbs back out of the water).

So whether you’re a Spidey fan or just a gamer this game will be the one to watch!
