The first review of the script for the first Green Lantern film has not just had a rave review from a major website, but allegedly from Warner Bros producers. |
According to IESB.net, the website who recieved the script, gave it some good praise and reveals that it does cover major aspects of the comic book. Oa, the Central Battery, The Corps all will be in the movie in some ways revolving around the most well known Lantern, Hal Jordan.
The website also spoke about two very fan oriented cameos. One being from a certain Mr Kent and the other from Guy Gardner, future Green Lantern and someone who is going to feature more predominatly in the sequals.
The script comes from the quite amazing writing talents of Greg Berlanti (Eli Stone), Marc Guggenheim (Amazing Spiderman, Eli Stone) and Michael Green (Heroes) with Marc being the one who was in the forefront of writing the script.
What is important to note is that rumours are going around that WB producers loved the script and are willing to go all out. The only concern is that the scope of the story might be too big for present director Greg Berlanti.
The article also talked about, because of the halt to the JLA movie due to a potential Screen Actors Guild Strike, present director George Miller has been dropped from the on/off project. But rumours are flying that he could possibly replace Berlanti as the director for the Green Lantern movie.
As a huge GL fan, I’m really glad the producers loved the script and that the film seems to be fine tuned towards making something extreamly close to the source material. It really shouldn’t be a surprise coming from the type of writers that the film is written from. And if it happens, I really could see GL being that year’s Iron Man. The movie in which has a hero not to known from the public, but explodes onto the scene after a major motion picture.
Less surprised about the JLA buzz. The film has been on and off for so long and stuff keeps on happening with it every day almost, that you’re not sure whether to look forward to it or cover your eyes for the train wreck that may be impending.
